Good news everyone…I think I may have secured our economic future with the development of a brand new currency. We have all heard that time is money; well under our new economic policy I intend to prove this age old adage.

What would happen if we all shared our time as though it were money? Well thanks to the Bank of Danny, you can now trade your spare time for the Interdependent Occupational Units, or as I prefer to call them the IOU.

So lets say you give an hour of your time to help me start our country. In return I will give you a certificate for 60 IOU's (one IOU being worth a minute). In effect that certificate then becomes our currency and you, my noble citizens, become shareholders in our glorious new country. It’s brilliant! It’s simple! I don’t understand why Gordon Brown hasn’t already thought of it.

For those noble citizens that have spent time posting their thoughts on our country’s forums you will see that I have already issued you your very own IOUs – each post equals 0.1 of an IOU, so some of you may already be amongst my nation’s burgeoning super rich.

As yet there are no deals struck with any of the major banks, and Thomas Cook certainly won’t exchange them for you. But as you would expect with any new economic system there are bound to be a few teething problems. I’m sure we’ll work these out if we throw enough time and money at it!
